Hey Brothers Fam,
Time to make a cuppa and sit down for a few minutes to catch up on some highlights from Brothers Support Network over the past few months. There have been so many magic moments and big steps in the right direction, it has been one incredible quarter.
Our 'why' still sits behind every decision we make. If it's changing lives for the better, it's a big YES let's do it! If it's not, it's a big NO.
Our vision remains the same.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to be a nationwide community of Brothers that have transformed the way support is delivered to young men. Our Brothers are true professionals who provide a service that changes the lives of those we care for.
These are big statements to live up to but for us here at Brothers it couldn't be any other way!
MEET BROTHERS THERAPY DOG, CHARLIE
One huge decision we made over the last few months with a big YES was to add a four-legged member to the family.
Charlie joined Brothers at the beginning of March at 10 weeks old. Charlie is a Golden Retriever and has the most divine temperament. He is in training at the moment to be The Brothers Therapy Dog. Charlie has brought so much love to so many lives already.
We seriously can't wait until he can attend shifts with Brothers who could benefit from his company.
There is so much research documenting the benefits of Dog Therapy but this one we love:
Research shows dogs promote a hormone called oxytocin which is associated with empathy and relationship-building. It is commonly referred to as the “love hormone”
LIVE GAMES
We have had some great boys nights out at the Rugby recently.
A massive thanks to Dolphins NRL and Brothers Rugby Club for organizing tickets for us to see Dolphins vs Manly Sea Eagles and the QLD Reds vs Western Force.
For some of our boys this was their first time at a live game and the smiles were infectious. We will make sure there will be many more opportunities like this for our boys.

WINTER FOCUS: WELLNESS IN THE WINTER MONTHS
We will be focusing on staying well and healthy through winter by remembering a few simple things.
1. WATER
It's easy in summer to remember to drink water as we get so hot and thirsty but during the winter months we tend to forget about how much water we are drinking and need.
Brothers will be reminding you to take your water bottle everyday and making sure it needs a refill.
2. LAYERS
The days can be so changeable in weather now, one min hot and the next cold.
Getting cold uses lots of our precious energy and can make us quite emotional.
Brothers will be reminding you to wear layers and take a jumper out for the day.
3. VITAMIN C
This is the number one vitamin for the winter coughs and colds, this is also when oranges and tangerines are in season so where possible and however possible have your daily vitamin
Brothers will be reminding you to have your daily dose of Vitamin C
Please reach out if we can help you,
The Brothers Team
